Ghost was bad tonight, kinda sucks to see him play how he's been playing this past stretch of games considering how good he was all around to start the season.

How funny is it going to be when the Flyers start winning again as soon as A Mac gets back into the lineup haha

Gotta feel for Giroux the Flyers have literally flushed his prime years down the toilet with the teams they have put around him. Hopefully a silver lining is that he is still on this team when they are contending, guy deserves a Cup.

They’ve been trash. Truly frustrating. Building year or not, 11 losses in 14 games is absolutely unacceptable.

If they lay an egg again at home on Friday, heads have to roll. Someone needs to get fired.

I kinda hope they lose Friday just so Hakstol does get fired. Have never really been a fan of his hiring. Maybe that will actually wake this team up too. And you are right a lot of these performances have been really bad lately makes you wonder of a lot of the guys on the team are tuning the coach out. How can you go from being so good at the start of the season to what we see now it just doesn't make much sense to me.

Freshflyer imo they have been tuning Hakstol out for about a year now, even that 10 game losing streak last year and Hextall kept him. He should have been canned. I made a decision last night to stop taking my Flyer so seriously. Now I just sit back and laugh at them even though I want nothing more than wins. As long as Hakstol is behind the bench this team will never win and the same goes for Haxtall, lol Trading Schenn should have got him fired, what a gong show!

They didn’t lose 10 in a row last year. They won 10 in a row.

Can get on the GM or the coach with the wrong facts.

Also, this board was predominantly in favor of trading Brayden Schenn. He was a whipping boy. Now suddenly Hextall made a mistake? Can’t have it both ways. Now we get to listen to Simmonds trade talk! Yay!

I'm just not a fan of the mediocrity I see on the ice in so many recent games especially when they started out the season playing well. The coach is definitely to blame for that in my books. As for Hextall being let go I think he's done a pretty decent job so far especially with the team Holmgren left him with.

Schenn was never a guy who drove the play in my eyes. If Schenn was on the team right now I doubt they'd be in a much better position imo. As for trading Simmonds I would be for it, just has to be in the right deal. If you could get 2 firsts for him, 1 in the 2018 draft year and the next I think I would do it. That way you'd have 3 first round picks in the 2018 draft. Package those with a defence prospect and you could basically go out and get a really great game breaking forward. Not sure who to target exactly but with the package you'd be offering it would be hard for a lot of GM's to turn down.

Few trades that the Flyers have made have made me as hard as the Brayden Schenn deal.

Mostly because Brayden Schenn does not and has never driven play. I'm glad St. Louis has gotten success putting him with Tarasenko and Schwartz.

He's a passenger. Always has been, really. Not saying he's not a good hockey player. He is. Just sayinig he's not THE GUY.

Thanks for Morgan Frost and thanks for this year's draft pick!

Have a good time losing, you are totally out to lunch buddy. Schenn a passenger and he leads the team in scoring. Schenn has only one blemish and that was being a Philadelphia Flyer where most players get wrecked by bad coaching and misuse. Try watching a Blues game and see who is making things happen, 19 points in 8 games and more than anyone in that stretch and he is a passenger, get real and realize the Flyers suck the life out of good players. Hakstol's days are numbered.

I believe right after they won 10 straight Couturier came back and the team went on a horrendous losing streak. Check the scores and see how many they lost in the next 20 after the win streak. I don't forget stuff like that, I remember saying how can a team win 10 in a row and then tank. One reason for sure was the play of Mason on one of his rare streaks.

One thing worth pointing out about the Flyers state of affairs. They have a much better team as far as talent goes than the expansion Vegas Knights, far better in talent. How come the Knights are a winning hockey team and the Flyers are not. It is Gerard Gallant behind the bench and not Dave Hakstol. They out shoot the Ducks in Anaheim tonite 50-19 with a not one Giroux, Voracek or Provorov. The reason is simply hard work and a coach that gets results. He did it in Florida too until he got fired for some disagreement with an owner but lets face it he knows how to win. They have a team of no names and mostly castoffs but are getting it done.

He has been floating the last couple years but is skating much better this year. However he will not be around for a cup because there are none on the horizon. I blame Hakstol for sure but in reality Hextall has really not given him much to work with. Good to see Martel called up and guys like Weise, Lehtera, Raffl, Read is gone, those guys need to be sent packing.

Some observations

No way I'm even considering re-signing what will be a 31 year old Simmonds to a contract extension. He should be dealt either at the deadline or the draft.

I pictured Elliott stumbling into the locker room after the game and just throwing equipment everywhere before collapsing a la Dennie Lemieux

Morin made no more mistakes than Manning did and less than Ghost. The kid just needs to play.

The development of Sanheim is one of the few true positives with this team right now. He's gonna be a stud.

Patrick has shown flashes, need to just be patient and hope he can stay healthy the rest of the season.

The team looked good at ES, no need to see anymore of Lehtera and Weise.

The PK is just a confidence lacking dumpster fire right now. It may not all be on Lappy but it's been generally poor for a long time and he doesn't seem to be making any adjustments to help things other than his starting to use Giroux more. It's probably not the easiest thing to do mid season, but a change seems to be in order.

Hopefully they snap out of it with a win Friday. If so, it will be because I'm at the game and I'll expect your expressions of gratitude for my presence.

Woodford Reserve rye is really good

I hope you all have a safe and fun Thanksgiving today!

They were certainly better than against Vancouver. However they were outplayed for significant periods during the game.

It would help the PK if they had more than one defense pairing they could rely on.

Same to you and to all. Happy Thanksgiving.

Raffl had a strong game last night and despite not putting up points, has played well.

Rough night for Ghost, But I think him paired with Morin has promise. I, Like BiggE, saw a young defenseman who made no more or less mistakes then any other guy out there. Morin brings a nastiness to this team that no other player has in their repertoire. He hits, he intimidates and for the most part moves the puck very well for a big man. His skating is so much better then 3 years ago, it doesn't look like the same guy. His first penalty was nerves, his second is one he needs to learn to avoid and that will come with experience. I thought Martel looked really good, Like a kid that wants to stay. Considering some of the walking zombies we have up front, he deserves another look Friday. Great skater...that surprised me.

I wondered if they would move Giroux at draft or this year sometime even with his no movement clause. Then I sit back and wonder how bad this team would be without him? I can barely get through games now....we already moved out a solid contributor for futures....This would signal that they really are going full rebuild. Considering we could have started it three years ago I would then really start to question our GM and his plan or lack there of.
